I received the following email recently from my Walnut Ventures colleague, Sal Daher, who had asked me for an interview for his upcoming podcast series. His email describes the series and has links to the pertinent places: his web site (where you can join his email list) and the iTunes store for the podcast itself.
Message follows:
The Angel Invest Boston Podcast Launches January 11th
Dear Ben:
I don’t know if I told you about my new project, but I think it might interest you. I am interviewing Boston’s most interesting angel investors and startup founders to learn more about how successful startups are built. The recordings of these interviews will be available on iTunes and Google Play on January 11th. Three full episodes are launching on that date. There will be a new episode every week after that. The LISTEN TO SHOW button below takes you to the iTunes page where you may subscribe so as to be made aware of all future episodes. If you wish to receive updates about live, in-person events kindly sign up at https://www.angelinvestboston.com/signup
Super angel & founder Michael Mark kicks off the series with a brilliant episode titled “Best Pivots Ever?”. Founder & angel Ralph Wagner is next with an entertaining episode titled “Flunk Calculus, Ace Life”. Founder & angel Ben Littauer follows with a highly informative episode titled “#1 Fundraising Mistake”.
Boston’s unique concentration of academic talent and entrepreneurial culture offer bountiful opportunities for conversations with people who have funded and built innovative world-changing startups. By recounting engaging stories, angels and founders convey lessons they have learned. These narratives illustrate the rewards of helping founders commercialize transformative technologies. We hope you too will find our dialogues entertaining and instructive.
As you may know, I immigrated to Boston as a child and attended Belmont High School, I studied engineering at MIT and Stanford. Decades of work in international finance followed. During that time, I invested in a handful of ventures founded by friends and acquaintances. These investments got me involved in Boston’s vibrant startup culture. Now, I’m a member of Walnut Ventures and MIT Angels and spend most of my time as an angel investor taking stakes in about a dozen startups per year. I hope the podcast conveys some sense of how consequential and satisfying I find this work to be.
Sincerely,
Sal
